- The e-Auction application will be accessible online through the NCS Trade Portal website (www.trade.gov.ng).
- The applicant will be required to present the following documents: 1) A recent passport photo. 2) Tax Identification Number (TIN) issued by FIRS.
- An applicant shall pay a non-refundable fee of One Thousand Naira (N1000) as administrative charge . Any additional fee/amount paid into the Auction e-wallet will also be non-refundable.
- The successful bidders will be required to make payment within five working days.
- Failure by successful bidders to pay for auctioned items within five working days will result in such items being reverted to the second highest bidder.
- Winners of bidding process for any item put up for auction will have 14 days from the date of payment to remove the item paid for or forfeit it at expiration of the period.
- Any auctioned item not removed from the warehouse within 14 days from the date of payment shall revert to its pre-bidding status and may be put up for auction again.
- Successful bidders shall in addition to the auction value pay: 25% of the auction amount to the Terminal Operator and 25% of the auction amount to the shipping line Operator.
- Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service and their immediate family members are excluded from participating in the auction even by proxy.
- Owners of seized items are excluded from bidding for same.
- Owners of overtime items with evidence of payment of duty and other charges has priority over a successful bidder of the item provided the item has not been exited out of Customs control.
- Interested persons are advised to study the Terms and Conditions of the Auction before acceptance.

Nigeria Customs Service E-Auction Portal
NIGERIA CUSTOMS SET TO DEPLOY E-AUCTION PLATFORM ON 1ST OF JULY
After repeated tests of the e-auction platform Nigeria Customs is now set to deploy the e-auction portal on the 1st of july 2017.
The portal is now fully networked to designated banks to ensure money accruing from the auction gets to the Central bank of Nigeria Treasury Single Account for transparency and accountability.
After receiving the report, the Comptroller General of Customs ,Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali(Rtd) directed the auction committee to ensure that only proper pictures of the goods as well as detailed information about each are uploaded to avoid and misgiving. He further stressed the need for more weeks to enable interested members of the public to obtain their Tax identification numbers (TIN) from the federal inland revenue before the commencement date .
The platform which is highly interactive will only give access to holders of TIN. Such tax payers will log in, read the guidelines, pay the non refundable one thousand auction fee and proceed to bid for the items on auction.
Recall that the CGC resumed duty in 2015 with a three pronged Presidential mandates of Restructure, Reform and seek ways of raising revenue.
Manual auction was identified as non competitive and opened to abuses hence it was suspended.
The committee set up has now developed an e-auction platform that is secured transparent and guarantees equal opportunities to all Nigerians.
All interested persons are therefore advised to get ready by obtaining their Tax identification numbers issued by Federal Inland Revenue
